This July will witness the release of Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini & HTC One Mini. As matter of fact both these devices are exact copy of GS4 & the One, created to compete with Apple’s rumored iPhone Mini aka Budget iPhone. It’s quite apparent that these two mini versions will have same features like their bigger counterparts, but in a scaled-down manner.
It is a 720p device with 4.3 inch screen and will run on a dual-core processor with 2GB of RAM. Moreover, it even features a storage capacity of 16GB, Jelly Bean 4.2, skinned by Sense 5 and a 4MP UltraPixel shooter. HTC has a lot of success with the HTC One. It seems like HTC One Min burst the same specs as the regular size HTC. The battle of the Mini smartphones is in the infancy stage. It is going to be very interesting to see how Apple respond to the mini competitions.
Galaxy S4 Mini
It will feature a dual-core 1.7GHz Krait chip, 4.3 inch qHD Super AMOLED & a 1.5GB of RAM. Apart from this, it even features a rear snapper with 8 megapixel sensor, which is capable of capturing 1080p quality video-clips & 8GB internal memory with an option of expansion for those users who prefer to store bigger files.
This is the main rival of both the above mentioned devices. Though, its features are still a mystery, but rumors claim that it will feature A6 processing chip, a 3.5-inch display (with no Retina) & a basic 8GB fixed storage capacity.
When we compare Apple’s mini handset with other rivals, it appears as a true winner due to its fan following and brand name. But the real thing is the cost, as said by Katy Huberty, Morgan Stanley’s analyst.
Moreover, it is quite likely that the retail price of an unlocked iPhone Mini would be around $US399, as predicted by Ms Huberty, and when we compare it with GS4 Mini which is expected to be around $600 (as per BGR News report), Apple seems to triumph in terms of cost.
So far HTC has not revealed the price of its smaller One, but it is expected that its price would be similar to that of Samsung’s GS4 Mini.
