We can now officially say the rumors surrounding Fingerprint Sensor for the next generation iPhones; namely iPhone 5s and iPhone 6 are not authenticated as we just learned Apple has acquired two separate patents capable of producing such technology. We have reported a number of times on previous posts that the Fingerprint Sensor is one of the features the new iPhone 5S/6 will incorporate. Those we simply rumors circulating. However, you now have proof.
An advanced search from the ‘trademark Election Search System (TESS) shows that AuthenTec and KeepSafe trademarks were last updated on Friday, March 8, 2013 reflect the new owner, which is Apple, Inc. AuthenTec specializes on fingerprint technologies and KeepSafe focuses on keeping data safe from possible thief and hackers.
The official product page for AuthenTec shows a message saying “products are no longer available” pretty much seal the Apple deal.

The newly announced Samsung’s Galaxy S4 (IV) already comes with fingerprint scanning / sensor features and this is an indication that Apple is ready to do battle with Samsung as far as smartphone features are concern.
