We reported a hot rumor recently on iPhone5sreleasedate.com that the iPhone 5s and iPhone 6 will come with fingerprint scanner/reader as a killer feature. Well, that rumor has been confirmed. Apple is eager to compete with the recently released Samsung Galaxy S4. More than before, they are forced to create new iOS and iPhone features due to increased competitions from smartphone producers like Samsung and HTC with their latest smartphone release ‘HTC One.’
Apple not only compelled to copy the latest features but also create features no other smartphone have in order to separate themselves from competitors. Again, Apple is the brainchild behind the whole smartphone phenomena with the release of the first smartphone in 2007.
Michael Barrett, the well known chief information security officer (CISO) of PayPal, confirmed last week that Apple is indeed is going to incorporate Fingerprint Scanner/reader into the next generation iPhone with iOS7. This feature will help protect consumers’ information but also hinting at another rumored killer feature ‘Credit card processor for iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 with iOS 7.’ Most of us in the tech and gadget industry know when Mr Barrett speaks the world listen. Mr. Barrett is not only a popular security experts but also on the board of Apple, Inc. and have inside information.
It’s widely rumored that a large technology provider in Cupertino, Calif., will come out with a phone later this year that has a fingerprint reader on it, he concluded.
The rumors of fingerprint reader into Apple’s next generation iPhone gained some ground before Michael’s confirmation because of Apple’s recent purchased of AuthenTec (we reported on that earlier). In AuthenTec own words, they:
AuthenTec is a leading provider of mobile and network security. Our diverse product and technology offering helps protect individuals and organizations through secure networking, content and data protection, access control and strong fingerprint security.
In order to survive Samsung’s and HTC direct assault on Apple’s domination of the smartphone market, counter the fast down sliding of its stock and iPhone and other product sales due to the stiff competition, Apple needs to come up with an iPhone (preferably iPhone 6) that is as big, as fast, as attractive as the Galaxy S4/HTC One and come up with a killer feature that is revolutionary and doesn’t not already exist in other smartphones. The very same thing that made me and million of other iPhone owners fell in love with the company in first place. So Apple, make us proud at WWDC this June with iOS 7 and other product release announcements.
